Trauma Dress
This project was an experimentation with materials and discursive design. Using a found pattern on the internet, I fabricated a dress using a delicate silk charmeuse fabric. Three panels of the fabric were printed with quotes from Judith Herman’s book Trauma and Recovery. The quotations follow the chronological timeline of trauma from its formal inception in the early 19th century through its evolutional impact on the male and predominantly female genders.
Without consent what is more untouchable than one’s body?
