Teaching Assistant
Brooklyn HS for Global Citizenship
2018 Spring–Present

Currently working with a team of six plus a Professor to produce an afterschool program for students from The High School for Global Citizenship near Prospect Park. We have developed nine weeks of lesson plans to work with the Graphic Design Club in learning the fundamentals of design. The final project will produce a large sized poster of the students work. An exhibition with the students will take place at the end of the semester to present their final pieces. We are also continuously documenting our process during development and time at the school.

Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) - This semester I am participating with a team of five other students and the Chairman of the Graduate Communications Design Program in high-level planning and research to determine best teaching models and practices in support of FREE SCHOOL, one of Pratt’s most inventive initiatives. We are working on a guided template for back and front of house to deliver a well organized production each year.

I work with clients to help develop both digital and print designs to meet their needs. Adept at visual strategy, layout development, branding and new media advertising. Demonstrated success in both individual and collaborative environments. I have completed a number of projects, both small and large in a timely manner.

Participated in class critiques under Design Systems Professor, Alisa Zamir. Sent weekly reviews and homework reminders to students. Answered emails from students about class and assignments. Would meet with students one on one to help with guidance as needed.

During my time as a Graphic Designer and Art Director for Peter Mayer, I produced visual solutions on projects that manifested moderately high-level design skills from the initial conception through the final execution of the project. I demonstrated my talent by creating and helping develop both conceptual and visual solutions for client campaigns. I communicated at a high level with other creative partners and supervisors during all aspects of the creative process. I also always completed all my assigned work in a timely fashion and often helped others complete their assignments as well.

June 2011–November 2011

Provided assistance to the Art Director by creating illustrations and icons, putting together concept mood boards. I also created layouts/covers for magazines, and created a custom thin line typeface and custom masthead for a client. Other duties included flowing copy, research, creating client mailers, and edit checks.
